The Baltimore Cinematic Universe (BCU) is a socially responsible media company that produces premium TV shows and films to promote positive images of Baltimore to worldwide audiences. We are a diverse collective of filmmakers utilizing a workforce development program and established local professionals to staff our productions and elevate the Baltimore TV and film industry.
Expand the local TV and film industry while bringing a new vision of Baltimore to the world.
For too long, the worldwide perception of Baltimore has been based on images of crime and disparity perpetuated in TV, film, and news media. By developing equally impactful media, we can change public perception of the city to reflect the historic decline in violent crime, vast improvements in infrastructure, and amplification of arts and culture.
We also want to help increase employment and eradicate poverty in Baltimore by bringing a new trade industry to the city. Through our TV and film workforce development program, we can provide training, mentorship, and job placement to locals who may be struggling with traditional means of employment.

The Baltimore Cinematic Universe was founded by Emmy Award-winning TV producer and editor Imani Muleyyar in 2025. Imani returned to his hometown of Baltimore at the height of his career to create a media platform for underrepresented black artists in the city called Imani Network. He went on to collaborate with other media professionals in Baltimore to produce more diverse content that represented the city as a whole.
After observing the misrepresentation of Baltimore in mainstream media and the negative effect it has on the city's growth and development, Imani united the media professionals he collaborated with to form the BCU. Together, we are producing premium TV shows and films for worldwide distribution that are intended to reshape the public perception of Baltimore. We also facilitate a workforce development program to train locals to work on these programs, in an effort to expand the Baltimore TV and film industry.
