Meet The BAMs, the powerhouse husband-and-wife duo at Better Attitude Makers Martial Arts Academy. Kimber “Master K” Johnson and Professor Willie “the Bam” Johnson, holding seven and five world championship titles respectively, are more than just martial artists, they are community builders, mentors, and the heart of a transformative movement.
Together they lead Team Elite Prestige, a hand-selected group of young warriors training for success in competition and in life. Their training is steeped in tradition and rooted in real-world street experience, fusing kung fu philosophy with modern practicality.
At the center of everything is the All American Tournament, a prestigious martial arts competition born in Baltimore and recognized by the city for its community impact. Legendary fighters and martial arts movie stars from around the world meet up with the BAMs on the tournament circuit to watch their team of young warriors compete for the championship.
Win, lose or draw, the lessons learned in the dojo last a lifetime. This is a story of discipline, purpose, family, and legacy. The BAMs are here to build champions inside and outside the ring.
Season 1
In season one, the BAMs launch their students into a bold new martial arts tournament circuit sweeping the nation. With a fresh team, high stakes, and everything on the line, they commit to transforming raw potential into disciplined greatness. But it’s not easy.
Intense training pushes both students and parents to their limits, creating tension in the gym and cracks in the community. Early defeats on the competition floor expose weaknesses not just in form, but in mindset. Still, every loss becomes a lesson, and every setback an opportunity to grow for the students, the parents, and even the BAMs themselves.
Behind the scenes, real life doesn’t slow down. Some students face serious struggles at home, forcing Master K and Professor Bam to tap the wisdom they learned as kids growing up in the inner city to protect and guide them beyond the dojo. Meanwhile, the couple's sons step back from teaching to chase dreams in martial arts films, leaving Master K to carry the weight of the gym on her own. Burnout, isolation, and sacrifice become her daily opponents.
Then, tragedy strikes, shaking the dojo to its core. But out of the pain comes unity. The team grows stronger, tighter. Wins begin to pile up. Confidence surges. And as the tournament season builds to its peak, the students and the dojo earn their shot at the world title. But to get there, they will have to leave their comfort zones behind and face their biggest battles yet: in the ring, at home, and within themselves.
